I don't blame you. Even I looked at next year's schedule and felt tired. With my decks, I go lengths to segregate UB and UW cards in decks. Heck, all of my current UB decks each center on an IP. I can already see 3 more decks being added, so I hope I have time to enjoy each of them.

Makes sense. A number of them do feel like a stretch, but a lot of them are thankfully reskins.
I've been on and off since ~2000 (have been on since 2011), so I do agree with the concerns people have about UW sets. I was very anti-UB when it first came out, too. So, take that as you will.

It's the classic case of "hell sells." If it's bad news, people flock to it. otherwise, they turn the other way.

I was honestly ecstatic when those two came out, especially FF. That said, I do hope they put more love and care into UW sets. Like I said, UB being in Standard is a big mistake.
Also, not sure where you were going with the synergy bit, but Marvel has ~2 more sets coming up that'll add to Spidey.

We cannot blame UB for what's happened this year. Instead, it should rest solely on the decisions that were made *about* UB. Not UB itself.

The same is true with preview seasons and the like (including what happened with EOE. What if that was an in-universe set that overshadowed the set? Would the same outrage still be present? I challenge all of you to answer that).

However, what I don't agree with is the uptick in toxic attitudes towards a set solely because it's not within Magic's IP. I've said it at least twice, and I'll say it yet again:
An In-Universe set does terrible, and no one bats an eye, but a UB set doing just as bad, and everyone goes nuts!

Let me be clear: I don't agree with all of WotC's decisions here, but people are joining the game because of UB. Did I agree that UB should be in Standard? No. Did I think Spidey was a bad set? Yes. Do I think in-universe versions should exist? Of course!

No one complained when FF came out, let alone Who or LotR. Could they do with in-universe treatments alongside UB sets? Sure. Do I agree with UB in Standard? Absolutely not.
And Spidey was #1 worst thing this year, I agree. Doesn't mean the rest of UB has to suffer for its sins.
