I too had to complete a form and produce ID to get access.

But I was able to do this via email, and provide copies of documents.

Yes, it is reliant on the Prescriber sending the prescription to the right "dispenser" this is where the human error can creep in.

But I would hope your regular "non enteral" dispensing pharmacy would realise the "special" Rx wasn't meant for them, or at least make a note on their system.

For the vast majority of patients it does work. But there are some with specific needs provided by specialist suppliers such as enteral feed pharmacies, and this is where it can get "messy/real".

The patient's PDS record, has the capability of holding a dispenser, an appliance dispenser and a dispensing GP record.

The Prescriber has options of not nominating a dispenser, nominating the PDS dispenser or a one-off dispenser.

There are other solutions to this issue than technology I believe
