BOOK GIFTS spanning genres - poetry, travel, puzzles, self-help, tech! HEANEY offers reflections, while AI anticipates how tech redefines existence. CRUISING and CAMINO both cater to my enthusiasm for travel. GEOGRAPHICAL adds twists, inviting me to challenges, while IKIGAI emphasizes life's purpose

BELFAST, Ireland... Only a few days left to view this exhibition of abstract Irish art and drawings in the city centre as it ends tomorrow. Whilst holidaying there, I was fortunate to attend the opening PV and meet the local artist,

SWELTERING in London! AI generated image of surreal, humorous ice cream cone with scoop shaped like human head of screen actor, Phelim Kelly, topped with caramel sauce and styled to look like his hair. Surface scattered with colourful sprinkles. Warmly lit, softly blurred. #ThirtyOneDegrees #ChatGPT

GOOD TO BE invited to last month's press conference at Lord's, where I was able to put a question to this cricketer hailing from Oceania...

ATTENDED THS SERIES of lectures in Belfast, back in 2021, and learned a lot about the commercial history of The Mediterranean. I highly recommend you go along this week if you are in Ireland, anywhere nearby. www.qub.ac.uk/schools/happ...

#lwf25 Planning to attend this annual event. Namely for Garnacha, Monastrell and Rioja masterclasses, sessions and international wine tastings. Only a short, walkable distance from where I live. Needless to say, I'll be more than merry on my return journey. Might need some form of London transport!

In Belfast, lunch did unfold
With stories & handshakes so bold
No spuds on plate
Yet chicken was great
And venue was grand to behold.

Three dozen fine tables held fast
With moments & meetings that last
Noticed another named Kelly
Filled with food in my belly
Though absence of spuds left me aghast!

CELEBRATION of mostly European wines... A Hungarian bottle possibly outshines my Spanish, Portuguese and Argentinian favourites! Will your next toast be with artistic Campo Viejo, sweetness of Oremus, charm of Porta 6, vibrance of Tarima, tasty Terra Sagrada or New World sophistication of Trivento?
Photograph of six unopened wines bottles, five reds and one white, on a beige background.

ANNUAL GATHERING at House of Lords for alumni from University of West London. Was called Thames Valley University, when I attended back in 1990s! Just heard our Ealing based institution, rising year-on-year within academic league tables, will soon have a new medical school as well as a dental school

LONDON CELEBRATES ST. PATRICK's DAY... The Irish spirit shone brightly at the Embassy of Ireland recently. A warm Gaelic welcome greeted guests whilst hosts raised toasts to Ireland’s heritage. Amidst the revelry, a sharply dressed gentleman, shamrock on his chest, savoured the tribute to tradition.

LONDON HOUR, ON THE HILL... At 6pm, last Bank Holiday Monday I entered another dimension! Namely, the last day of the 2024 Notting Hill Carnival, taking place near to where I lived in the mid to late eighties. But just for an hour, as being a teacher I had a couple of lessons to attend in Pimlico.

SPOTLIGHT, yesterday... I did voiceover narration course, which included voice exercises and attendees doing individual recordings, whilst seated, in venue's soundbooth. Interesting, educational and fruitful! Photo reveals location (home of castings): 16 Garrick Street PLUS my nearly-finished latte!
