anyway, it’s a very old chair (jan 1999) and the seat mesh will need replacing soonish (has a bit of a tear), but it still feels great to sit in, and i love something i can pull apart and fix myself.
it was $400 nzd ($236~ usd). probably a bit expensive for what it ended up being, but i’m happy w it

the recline functionality was a bit weird, always loose no matter the tension setting. took it apart, found and fixed the issue. recline works perfectly now, yay!

unfortunately the front tilt lock is busted. not too fussed about that though, seems fine having front tilt always on

every time i close a folder and the border is briefly dark before snapping to white… it’s all so pointless

that is one of the most unhinged things i’ve seen an app ask. wtf

there’s probably an actual term for it, but i’ve just started calling it “offensive design” (as in going on the offensive, not that it offends) where apps try and make me work for them, not the other way around.
