Your "beautiful landscape" is all colonially deforested farmland (teara.govt.nz/en/farming-a...). The NZ government stole Māori land and forcibly displaced Tangata Whenua, draining their wetlands, clearing the forest and burning the tussocks.

Puketeraki have launched their new waka, Kura Matakitaki, at a dawn ceremony in Karitane this morning. This has been a huge labour of live and dedication by many people at the marae.
