I suspect a key reason the powers that be don't want us to have a #righttoroam in England & Wales is they want to keep hidden the damage they do to our great outdoors, because when we see them damage our nature, like the trees in Sheffield, we rise up and protect our environment. Excellent article.

Unfortunately no - most slebs and sports people these days are in the 7% who are privately educated and from the wealthier elements of our society, and not what I would call 'regular people'.

I have zero sympathy for Detorri - I just hope that HMRC continues to ensure that taxes owend will be paid and not written off.

All the best to all the finalists - great to see lots of emerging talent supporting risk and safety management recognised for the work they are doing. #safety

I think people here in Britain, especially many news orgs, forget it was the Trade Union movement that led to democracy in our country, better employment conditions and pay, and importantly to me they drove the improvement in health and safety, ensuring workers don't die while working. #safety

It is amazing what signs lawyers and insurance companies tell us to put up - yet H&S is blamed for them! Where there is blame there is a claim culture can be slightly annoying at times when we in H&S want to focus on real issues and not signs which are mostly ineffective!

Just had my survey for a heat pump to be installed - waiting for the full quote to see how much it will cost, but with a £7,500 grant hopefully not much more to pay.

The experience in Scotland since 2005 shows that the claimed damage by walkers accessing our great outdoors is a myth.
In England we only have 8% of our country to access, most in remote areas far away from where most live. The economic and health benefits of a #righttoroam are well evidenced.

The greatest innovation to help grow our economy, safeguard our precious ecosystems, and reduce the burden on our NHS by better mental and physical health and wellbeing is to intorduce a Scottish style right to roam in England, yet no mention of that. A very poor speech.

One of the best games I ever played was Aliens by Leading Edge Games with cardboard characters stuck in plastic bases - amazing fun because of the excellent gameplay. Wish I knew where my copy went - seems to go for £450 on ebay!

And far too many people work in unsafe and unhealthly conditions - uniosn were the driver of H&S improvements - you need to be at the fore front once again to enhace worker #health and #safety.

I am proud to be a #union member - joined the day I left the army.

Unions and their members forced governments to enact laws to protect the health, #safety, and welfare of working people. Journalists, MPs, and ministers often forget this crucial role in the development of our country.
