WH becomes TG, Smith becomes Jones. My guess is that it’s the internal code word they were using when they were planning the deal, and no one could be arsed to come up with anything better.

Had to be a placeholder brand - switch Smith for Jones and slightly alter the initials. If the business survives in any form at all, it will need to be rebranded and reengineered once the new owners or their successors have figured out a strategy.
