Yeah of course, but I can't think of a better explanation for problems like stop spacing in a new build. The people who created this plan cared about something, certainly. Equity, aesthetics, but apparently not speed.

We've got plenty of experience with trams, maybe less than some but enough. The only explanation is apathetic leadership.

And unfortunately people still seem to think the problem isn't lack of supply or excessive fees and red tape but rather greedy developers. Which is why Ford keeps getting away with his incompetence.

Yeah I was being a little tongue in cheek, my actual opinion is that a solution involves actually taking the problem seriously and not just looking at it, as the Dems seem to be, as a normal swing of the political pendulum. Dictatorship isn't another political wedge issue.

Canada's high speed rail plan includes all the places currently served by rail: Vancouver, Halifax, Prince Rupert, Hay River (might as well extend up to Yellowknife), Churchill, Moosonee. Also create charter cities out of Toronto and Vancouver are now charter but with a builders remedy.

Skydome used to be surrounded by parking too. The problem with BMO Field is that the giant parking lot is owned by the city and, unlike private lots downtown, isn't susceptible to market forces.
