I helped my mum complete her postal vote today. Probably her last. We said thank you to the suffragettes and their allies as I sealed the envelope.

In a classic introvert move, I missed World Introvert Day (clearly designed by a well meaning extroverted ally). Designed and illustrated by Gemma Correll, this made me chuckle:
Proverbs for introverts: Good things come to those who leave early. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and those people who call instead of just texting. A nervous man will clutch at a straw just so he has something to do with his hands. The early bird avoids eye contact with the worm. You can’t judge a book by its cover but you can hide behind it so that nobody talks to you. To err is human, to umm is human. Making small talk is hard. Patience is a virtue…and also a fun game you can play by yourself at home. Never put off until tomorrow what you can cancel today.

I’m late this year. Happy Hanukkah to my Jewish friends and colleagues.

Today’s prayer from the Methodist Church of Great Britain:
A prayer remembering trans people who have died because of prejudice and hate. It asks God to be close to their loved ones. It prays for the government, health organisations and the media for acceptance and compassion. It asks for God’s spirit to with trans people in their times of sorrow and in joy.

Great exhibition to see in the run up to International Women’s Day. Inspired by the rage. Missed a trick with the title. IMHO. I would have gone with “Revolt-ing Women”.
