I think the extra juice was provided by the story of the game: Chelsea could deny Spurs the title - but found themselves trailing. People just went bonkers. Then more bonkers.

The most intimidating atmosphere I ever encountered at any ground in 35+ years of stadium-going in England was at Sramford Bridge on 2 May 2016, when Chelsea came back from 0-2 to give the title to Leicester. The stands were moving walls of pure hatred.

I'm a bit on an expert on old Counters Creek, as it played its role in our (successful) fight against Berkeley Homes, who wanted to build over a significant piece of woodland adjacent to Olympia. The border between LBHF and RBKC is defined by the former course of that river. Which still flows!

London's Lost Rivers is not too difficult to find, I believe.

Mine is Counters Creek in West London, which has been culverted since the Crimean War or thenabouts, so no luck here.

The thing with Badenoch is that we always end up saying, surely, there must be a point at which she stops the barking mad act, which is exactly when she starts barking some more, ever louder.

Can't really go wrong with this.
