"Britian loses"

One of the side-effects of the implosion of the Conservative party is how beyond amateurish their entire operation is now.

Even at a senior level the quality and experience of the people working for them is just incredibly low

Cheers. BTW I’m on hols with no access to albums so to refresh my memory I looked debut albums up on the net. AI told me that Bowie’s Let’s Dance and the Clash’s London Calling were debut albums?!? I do hope youngsters in college aren’t relying on AI for essays if that’s the quality of answers! 😱

Hi @richards7370.bsky.social - this is going to be a tough one. Not least with this. I need official clarification: The Style Council released ‘Introducing’ in 1983 as a mini album comp but many believe their debut album proper is Cafe Bleu (1984). Which one will be accepted? #5debutalbums8084

#Nowspinning Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra – Promises (2021). First time tasting the last harvest—and this is my soundtrack. A breathtaking fusion of ambient, jazz, and orchestral beauty.

Marlena Shaw was born this day in 1942. Perhaps her best known number is California Soul, and what a great song it is. #music

Watch Brian Eno, Damon Albarn (Blur), Portishead, Hot Chip, and a bunch of other cool people hold a concert at Wembley Stadium, demand a ceasefire, and an end to the genocide.

How is this not all over the news? I think the greatest failure of the 21st century may just be the news media.

My first thought for #5debutalbums0004 is this. An artist sadly missed.

Lies, damn lies, and opinion polls - Who you ask and how you ask matter, as does why you are asking — the history of opinion polls shows they are as much about creating opinions as they are about recording them, writes socialist historian KEITH FLETT

Lies, damn lies, and opinion polls
FOR anyone on the left, reading political coverage in the mainstream media can be quite a depressing experience. Daily headlines shout that Reform UK leads the latest opinion poll, will certainly win ...

A gang of incredibly brave British police arrest a 90-something y/o nun for protesting the genocide in Palestine: she's what the British Labour Party, law & state regard as a terrorist supporter.
