White supremacist talking points aren't up for debate. Them and their ideology should be eradicated but we often have to waste time trying to convince some people that that's what we're up against.

You still have people saying "how is he or this statement racist" and it's intentional.

On the surface, we're supposed to see it as Chris is too stupid to see what's wrong with his perfect universe but it's actually a great piece of commentary on how people willingly ignore what's happening around them because it doesn't affect them.

The Peacemaker reveal is particularly brilliant because it's extremely easy to believe someone would ignore acts of racism and the plight of POC because everything is going so well for them. That's kind of the point.
