Oh man…just trying to hang in there in this madness. I love good food, games, books, and friends. In other words, I’m more basic than a lye solution.
Thank Cthulhu we have finally won the war on protein…

That’s good to hear. Fancy desserts will never die!

That looks amazing, and I’m so sorry to hear that all that time and work went to waste. 😕 That would have broken my heart.

Are you too traumatized to try it, or something similar, ever again?

Yeah I just saw some of that exchange, and my first thought was people are literally being killed, and your fee-fees are hurt that people in the area are upset about your callous comments?

I remember when living through the awfulness of W, thinking it was the most awful regime we had had in over a century, and that it could’nt possibly get worse.

Time makes fools of us all.

That being said, I will never whitewash W and his terrible legacy, and don’t forgive those who do so.

I was just thinking today about how it feels like another moral panic. I think by this point nearly every adult knows it isn’t ideal to eat Doritos and never have a cruciferous vegetable, but for a variety of reasons that is where a lot of people are. Less judging and more creativity about systems.

“Contribute”? Hmm…

Yeah…I have been there before. I’m sorry. I hope it starts feeling better soon.

I agree with all your points, and certainly don’t *want* to have all out violence. My question for you (referring to your point #4) is: do you have a line or point, or situation when you consider all non-violent options exhausted? It certainly feels like that day is rushing towards us ever faster.

Nope, I am almost completely unable to form mental imagery. When I read, I barely ever get pictures. It’s almost always just audio.
I think that is why I don’t care who they cast for roles from books I like, because I don’t have an idea of what the characters *should* look like.

Impressive! If you *had* gotten it from Aldi, what imaginary name would you give it, as it looks tasty?

I get that. I don’t know if this addresses your point, but with a big monster, like a dragon, its power is much higher than any individual PC, and is why you need a party to hope to defeat it, even if you are trying to “balance” it so it is something approaching a similar “level” to the PCs.

So, for example, an NPC wizard might be able to cast 2 leveled spells in a turn, or would have more or fewer level 3 spell slots than a PC wizard of the same level.

It hasn’t come up in my games, but I have thought about it a bit. My “answer” is extremely unsatisfying as it is basically hand waving, but I consider the rules for player characters as rules for them only, and that they people they go up against don’t play by the same exact rules.
