We even found time for a very spirited and surprisingly deep discussion about the current state of the New York Giants with two students proudly sporting their Giants gear. Thank you to the students and staff at Hillside for such a warm welcome and a fun, memorable visit.

I am proud of the work we have done to bring greater transparency and accountability to this largely unregulated industry, and I will continue pushing for stronger consumer protections to prevent future tragedies.

As we approach the end of the year, I continue to stand with the advocates, caregivers and community members who believe New Yorkers deserve the right to make deeply personal decisions about the final stage of life.

I am encouraged to hear that @governor.ny.gov has expressed her intent to sign the bill. This is welcome news for the many New Yorkers who have waited years for this option and for the families who have bravely told their stories.

My support for this was strengthened after a constituent came to me and shared the difficult circumstances their family faced at the end of a loved one’s life. Their experience made clear how meaningful it is for people to have the ability to make their own choices during an incredibly hard time.
