I just pull an all-nighter, I couldn't leave Venus out there playing while I sleep.

I haven't been able to stay up for night sessions in ages.

Uh-ooooh.

Penko-Paolini.

Tressetta Pegula withstood the barrage of shots and made her move when Sabalenka was cruising to victory. A good match and much improved serving from Pegula.

Sabalenka must be tired of these pesky Americans -four big titles or finals denied..

Sharapova is 0.5 in slams also. It's the match-up sometimes.

Safina catching strays again
September 6, 2025 at 3:39 AM
She would be the first 'slam-less' No. 1

I listen to all their public podcast, and I don't get any hate from them to Iga. They put her in a higher pedestal than I do.

But she could just say, I am not going to answer that question anymore.
But to double down with you look like you need a mental break. It is just tacky/rude and something else I can't put my finger on now.
September 4, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Please, then why did she 'bristle so rudely' at David asking if she was tired & needed a mental break. Obviously, her body broke down after such a successful summer it was more about the grind than the loss.
Kim won 2 US Opens without off-day practices, by the way.
Everyone is different, but..

Lol, I wrote something similar about Djokovic and the Todd Martin experiment then deleted it.

But it has also become mental, Roddick said, when he worked with her for a couple of days, she rarely missed a serve.
No expert but, I believe she needs a mental coach or a new one to work in tandem with the technical coach.

I think the grip changed et al helped her forehand. Except for the Osaka match at the Open, I can't recall many very terrible fh matches since September last year. I believe she was standing too close to return Naomi's serve. She needed to mix up her return of serve position.

Maria or Gauff?
September 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM
I think, Vee quietly did some major surgery on her wrist after 2002, I want to say. I heard someone saying she couldn't use a certain type of improved racquet because of her wrist surgery. Not sure if it was Wilson rep, but definitely someone close to the camp.

I know, I saw it . 👏🏻
September 4, 2025 at 1:55 PM
But Venus was also the cash cow, too.
September 4, 2025 at 1:52 PM
When she burst on the scene, I didn't hear much chatter about her technical deficiencies, the noise was more about burn-outs. OpenCourt was the first person I heard mentioning a problem with her serve.
September 4, 2025 at 1:51 PM
Sharapova wrote in her autobiography that she asked Bolletteri why he didn't spend more time sureing up her forehand, but he never really gave her a straight answer.

Cash cow, perhaps?

While Serena adjustments were like the next tournament. For example, she lost a match because she couldn't play an effective lob and the very next tournament she was lobbying the girls off the court.
