Ok, but what’s the difference between the concept artist using a gestural doll or taking photos in the parking lot and them iterating poses or rough ideas with ai before digging into the art? I always tell my students that “AI is a tool, not a canvas” and I feel like that’s how it’s being used here.

I feel like this is overblown. They're using AI tools for things that are specifically not creative works, nor do they use it in a way that replaces the human factor. There are a ton of grifters out there that deserve vitriol more than Larian.

“Slop” may be the wrong word, you’re right. A lot of work goes into these games. I just don’t think many of them made this way have a visual identity.

There’s no risks being taken, no innovation, and no identity. The combat always feels great, but it also all feels the same. I don’t know if it’s because they’re all using the same UE assets, but none of these games feel unique, despite them pushing their own uniqueness as a selling point.

I’m looking at games like this, Where Winds Meet, Game of Thrones Kingsroad, Forspoken, etc.

It all feels the same, the combat feels uninspired, even if the graphics look amazing. But the graphics only look amazing because of Unreal Engine 5.

I love Borderlands, but the performance issues made me stop playing BL4 after a few hours. And BL2 and 3 had better graphics.

If @xbox.com doesn’t do anything about this, I’m cancelling my Game Pass Ultimate.

Makes me wish the new creator collaboration they added actually did revenue splits. Right now, it still all goes to whoever uploads.
