Lindsay Reade. Gillian Gilbert. Ang Matthews. Cath Carroll. DJ Paulette. Stella Hall. Linder Sterling. Kay Carroll. So many brilliant women played a pivotal role in Factory’s story. Thanks for acknowledging & amplifying some of their voices @ophiraophira.bsky.social @manchestermill.bsky.social
"The question is not one of whether women were involved in the label’s success, but rather why it’s taken just under half a century for their involvement to be recognised."

She helped build Factory Records from the ground up. So how did Lindsay Reade get cut out of the story?

On a cold morning in January 2008, I ran my first parkrun at Woodhouse Moor in Leeds. This morning I ran my 250th parkrun, at Cannon Hill park in Birmingham. The next milestone is 500 and I'll let you know when I've hit it. But don't wait up.

MPs have voted 330 to 275 in favour of progressing with an assisted dying bill, and I think it's a very positive step forward for the #UnitedKingdom.

Strava decided that user data is actually their data and, rather than exposing it for third parties to leverage in myriad amazing ways, it's theirs/third parties are a threat.

Since 2008 I've been using Fetcheveryone.com to record my running (10616km so far), walking (2705km) and cycling (10177km).

Sigh - classic fact free nonsense. ‘news’ story here totally fails to mention that Tory plans were for fines of £5k (later reduced to £3k) for each missed heat pump sale. What @Ed_Miliband has done is to reduce that to £500. Headline should read “Miliband slashes Tory boiler tax”
