During Covid it came out that Doug was learning French.—Later that he was practicing with French speakers.
Why would a guy like Doug do that?
Imagine the sound of jaws dropping if he can speak moderately fluent, unprompted French.

They didn't/don't have to be convinced of 'Manifest Destiny' which malingers today in their national psyche along with exceptional delusions that 'great' means 'good', and everyone wants to be American just because.
