Some insects are more odd than others. Here is a Plane lace bug,
Corythucha ciliata that feeds on sycamore and plane trees. It is native to N America and has been introduced and spread in Europe. It is 3-4mm large.

One of the more unfathomable moths I know of, with an incredible "english" name - The merveille du jour, which means "the wonder of the day".
Its' larvae feed on oak, and it flies in September-October.

Pretty guy and a nice fly...

A the noon fly, Mesembrina meridiana.
It lays eggs in cow dung, feeds on nectar and pollen, and is ovoviviparous.
It contributes to controlling the populations of other coprophagous insects.
