Yes, that was the one exception in my eyes. And possibly that's why it won. It stands out, although I also see it as visually too sleek to really evoke the madness of a supercell storm, but then again I've never seen one.

ie. they are all HDRed to death and super smooth, technical printing brilliance at the detriment (in my opinion) of character. And yes, in case you're wondering, I have yet to be moved by an Ansel Adams print ;-) 2/2

I don't know that it's necessarily digital at the heart of this, although maybe a byproduct of digital. I see a jury bias: with one exception, these are all super calm scenes, with exceptional (and unusual) lighting. That alone makes them all feel samy. I also get an Ansel Adams feel from them 1/2

As a bonus, here is a close-up of the hand and back where the paper texture really shines.

Oh wow, that looks like it's going to be a super minimalist shot... Can't wait to see it.

A4 : Badly is the best answer I can give. I post on social media (here and instagram) but the response is so tepid it's hard to find the motivation. I used to do small exhibits at a cafe place near me, but they closed down. Thinking about a book...

A3 #photochat :

Lightroom for 95% of the work, and the occasional shot that goes into photoshop (usually to fix background issues).

A Canon EOS 300 with a roll of FP4+ that has 24 frames of rock textures done, another 11 to be done with barks and leaves, all for a studio double exposure shoot next week.

A1: Most of my shoots are planned these days. In the studio with models, you can hardly do otherwise. But even the shooting itself is planned: which film, which look, which technique. I have a small notebook full of ugly sketches as well ;-)
