This is how it begins... Just one more breadboard and some cables... 😄

I've just completed my v1 project: there's a light sensor, PIR and LED strip to provide under bed lighting.

v2 will integrate with Home Assistant and have temperature monitoring!

Hah! Love it. I got the red codemas advent. I've also been setting up the PIR to trigger the light strip. I got out the OLED display, but could only see how to write text and I wanted pixels, so it's back in the box.

Snap!! Such fun!
Check out github.com/blaz-r/pi_pi... library: just copy neopixel.py to the Pico and import into your code. It's much faster than the Pimoroni library.

Python for the win!

Abstract submission open now.
Wait until January before registration though as they are sorting out the pricing page.

I haven't cracked day 8 or 10 let alone start thinking about optimisations. So well done if you've solved those days!

Then I check on Reddit and someone has solved it in assembly that runs in microseconds!! FML.

Who or what wrote the alt text for this image? "Picture of a posh white lady" ... I mean, it's not wrong...

To try and deal with my hate of python packages I recently tried UV on top of my Conda package manager. So now along with pip I have three headaches!! 😮‍💨

I, too, didn't use zip. I love my loops!

Thanks! I normally love Regex, not sure why I didn't apply it in the first place. I see in some solutions part two is basically adding a "+" which is ridiculous 😂

I'm much happier after completing both parts of day 4 myself now 😃

Feeling kind of defeated 😔 I couldn't do Day 1 part 2 without Reddit help. D2P2 is also incomplete. I learned about Mobius!
I've just done D3P1 in under an hour... My only "visualisation" was getting python to print ^ under the values it was picking from the string, which I was pleased about.

Totally! Even the UK's AI science strategy out last week said that we need to do better at collecting this kind of "negative" data because it DOES contain information and IS useful for training models.

It's really interesting! Check out m.imdb.com/title/tt5446... to go down the rabbit hole!

And just think how much more advanced the exploits are now...

Yep! That is probably the WURST I've seen!

In the Bottom 100 is not a claim they'll want to shout about! Being delayed is super frustrating, and means you can't rely on the trains to get you there when it counts. 🙁

You just need the "bot" one though? Right? 😄

It looks like this is targeted at organisations. As a sole practitioner, it would be valuable to share the learnings and make connections, but I'm concerned there will be a large cost to attend.

Great that it can run on a raspberry pi like Speedtest does. Does it have a machine readable output or an API so I can log the results to my own database?

I enjoy following bsky.app/profile/manw... and think you will too! But it's kinda preaching to the converted.
