Why does the name look so familiar?

In 2025, they added Jayden Perry, and for 2026, have the opportunity to add another Bruin.

Helped guide UCLA’s defense to a 0.47 GAA that ranked 2nd in NCAA

Yeah almost all the moves have been involving NWSL clubs only or NCAA signings.

Primary Window opens up the entire globe and is scheduled to start January 20.

The NWSL announced today that the 2026 schedule will be unveiled on Thursday, and also shared key dates for the year.

Teams can begin preseason can begin as early as this Wednesday, the transfer window opens next week, decision day will be Oct 24/25, and playoffs start two weeks later.

By all indications, the transfer opens up a whole new realm of possibilities/opportunities for the Portland Thorns.

I do expect them to make moves (yes, multiple) during this upcoming primary window.
However, how "massive/big" they go is the real question here.

All updates I've received on SEI players from last season are very positive.

100%, she was days away from a USWNT appearance and likely ROTY as you mentioned.

"I leave with the peace knowing I could not have given more of myself. I gave it everything I had. I leave with no regret. Providence Park will always be my favorite place in the whole world... My deepest hope is I get to be with you again. One day soon, I'll be seeing you."

Would not be surprised one bit if Liv Moultrie reaches double digits goals and sets a new career high in assists for 2026 - near the top of NWSL for both.

Her continued ascension into superstardom is one to watch and could see her on the USWNT's 2027 WWC Roster.

This is the exact type of move the Portland Thorns likely need this offseason at CB and Def Mid to be in NWSL Shield & Championship contention.

$650,000 in intraleague funds to trade for Emily Sams is an absolute steal and Mark Parsons/Angel City FC made an incredible move for the USWNT defender.

One of the 10 names is already unavailable...

If this does proceed... Agoos and the front office must extract max value and bring in the top names if they have intentions for shield and championship.
January 8, 2026 at 6:15 PM
However, this seems like a situation where Jeff Agoos and front office had absolutely no control and wanted to do right by her.

There was almost no way for them to salvage what was lost when Karina LeBlanc was GM.

Nothing is done yet, but seems probable headed that way.

Sam Coffey's time in Portland included three head coaches in four seasons: Rhian Wilkinson, Mike Norris, and Rob Gale.

In 2025, they had one of the youngest rosters in NWSL.

In 2026, they were primed to be a top contender for shield and championship. A new state-of-the-art facility too.

Brutal...
