I'm watching Japanese and Chinese 1xR fans lament that they feel they can't leave Twitter because they feel "outside fandom" (American 1x2 fans) is so rancid about Relena it makes j Twitter a safe haven. I multi ship and follow tonnes of Japanese 1x2 shippers and they are not Like That.

Relena hate proudly continues in a lot of their circles and I honestly don't get how they aren't embarrassed, but then I remember a bunch of them have never even watched the entire show. Hating the female "competitor" in their preferred pairing is a feature, not a bug, to plenty of existing fans.
