The odd number of executive branch committee members could be 3, 5 but I think no more than 7 people for that type of position.

The serving president & vice president could remain yet be replaced first to start the revolving replacement of one member of the executive branch "committee." Each elected member of the committee would then be up for election every 4 or 6 years or something like that.
