A cynical cat
I hope to God I have good presence of mind to record the encounter and ask in the moment.

Wrt the Tide shrinkflation - it *always* needed less liquid to do a load of wash than the marked measurement on standard loads. They wanted us to use it up faster and buy more. They didn't change the formula, they changed the measurement to be lower so you pay more for the same number of "loads".

On reading the funding request, the Biden request was for 1000 officers. Trump added funding for 10k+ officers. In addition, the Biden request included judges, immigration attorneys, food and housing assistance - which have been decimated by Trump policies. Biden funding request is not the problem.

Breaking Bad

This is 100 percent spot on. Only Wired did good reporting on the massive data theft that was occurring.
December 28, 2025 at 7:35 PM
The purpose of DOGE was to steal all the govt data to feed to unregulated ai and to create master data on every citizen. This will be used in an escalating fashion against us all to identify "enemies", and deny benefits, etc. based on "loyalty". Why isn't this still being made clear? It is known.
December 28, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Absolutely. Never exceeded 125 dollars in a month. I know exactly what uses the most electricity (the AC in summer in the south), the daily always on (computers, and related), and the least (the LED bulbs which includes the christmas tree lights). Suggest you do some reading on the topic.
December 26, 2025 at 6:37 PM
"A string of 100 LED lights uses 5-to-10 watts of electricity (it varies by design and manufacturer). Assuming 10 watts per string, a 6-foot, 600-bulb tree would use 60 watts and cost $0.06 to light for six hours, or $2 to your total December electricity costs (6 hr per day)"
December 26, 2025 at 6:28 PM
Sure. Let's all scrimp on the miniscule amount of electricity used by led Christmas lights. While Open AI builds up to 10 data centers. Each of which requires 5 Gwh - more than the state of NH. And then there is Apple, Google, Amazon, X-AI, etc. All with similar plans. Subsidized by us.

This is going to come down to whistleblowers that have seen these files, and decide not to cover for pedophiles any longer.
December 20, 2025 at 10:24 PM
Now I understand why all these misogynistic clowns have trampled all over the American democracy and done their very best to beat us into submission. America is "Her".

What matters is that the first strike was also illegal.
December 17, 2025 at 6:30 PM
I gotta admit, it's a solid defense move. Why is that, you ask? All our true adversaries are laughing with joy. They no longer have to pay any attention to the US. They are free to pursue their goals with impunity since the Trump clown-car posse has removed the US from any position of consequence.
December 17, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Just guessing they don't have a 2nd amendment along with wealthy advocates that keep binding the courts into deciding that all guns are equal. Or deciding that no matter how many scores of people a gun can kill per second, it is exactly what the writers of the constitution intended.
December 16, 2025 at 7:13 PM
I'm happy to see anyone - ANYONE - be able to say they were wrong. It's a life skill. I needed to learn how to do it quickly and without defensiveness in my career, and I'm not going to start criticizing people for doing it.
December 16, 2025 at 3:31 AM
Pretty obvious that this is another step needed for a potential presidential run.

I definitely overspent on pencils.

While I go to none of the chains listed because they are universally awful, I will go to chains such as Senor Frog, Chuys, and Marlow's Tavern. They are currently good in my area, and they offer consistency. Too many restaurants failed in the pandemic or declined and never recovered.

It's prairie dogs. But my favorite related headline I ever saw was "Man throws dead squirrel at wife, gets plague."
December 14, 2025 at 4:03 AM
If I never hear about Joe Manchin again, it will be too soon. All he ever did in the Senate was play games to enrich himself and try to position himself for power grabs. He did not care a fig about whether the Senate was functional or working for the good of Americans. His opinion is worthless.

Tax refunds have nothing at all to do with actual amount of taxes paid. What are the actual amounts of tax average Americans will pay in 2026? 2027? How about the amount of tax in the form of tariffs?

So release the Epstein files in total that show all the non-newsworthy people. Oh wait - they are ALL politicians, bankers, or wealthy power brokers. The only selectivity was the people cultivated by Epstein. Yeah. Release them all. All parties, nationalities, and corporations need to be exposed.
December 13, 2025 at 2:53 PM
Quite honestly I think Melania thinks that this is fine. Sex with rapey rich men makes you smart. A pathway to wealth that worked great for her, and right on the Epstein trafficking plane too.
December 11, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Because Sweden, Denmark, and Norway are really great countries. Better than the US, especially now. You said it yourself - people want to leave their hellhole existence to go to countries where they have a fair chance. Like the US was under every prior administration, until this one.

Hepb.org "More than 50% of people living with chronic hepatitis B are of Asian, Pacific Islander or African descent. Hepatitis B and the resulting liver cancer are among the largest health disparities for these groups." (Those ethnic groups total only 20%of US population.)
