Second win on the trot for Angus, today. Racing in cat 2/3 (the highest category available today) he rode an intelligent race and had enough in the bunch sprint to cross the line in 1st against some very strong opposition. #Winner

A lovely 50km+ loop, today… but, wowsers, what an evil easterly wind 💨 . Heart-rate on alert just to keep moving forwards!

A superb first crit-race of the year for Angus and his first race in the category up from where he was last year. Rode an intelligent race to finish a solid top-ten out of around 35 - holding his own against far more experienced competition.

BED January - and a rare opportunity to join Angus on one of his Z0/Z1 rides.

So BED January is done and dusted - pretty happy finish on 830 miles for the month. 😄😄

What a day in Harrogate. Evert only went and got himself selected to be in the JKS England Squad!! What a superstar!!
January 26, 2025 at 5:39 PM
Morning, folks… a busy day, yesterday. 110km ride followed by a 4 hour drive up to Harrogate… and now a busy day here oop north. Love it all, though… keeps me “young”. 🤣🤣

Out for a recovery spin with Russ and came across this lovely little Austin Seven. 😍😍

A lovely day on the bike with Russ. Far more rain than we were expecting to encounter but.. well.. it IS January after all… and our spirits weren’t dampened.

What a great show this was last night - the Simon and Garfunkel story.

The two chaps playing Simon and Garfunkel were superb, as were the backing musicians.

One of the few times I’ve been gutted when the show ended.

Thanks to Lisa for a organising.

Maintaining my “bike every day in January” streak with a lovely social ride out to Uphill with PCC. Over 400 miles ytd (I normally take no notice of that kind of thing but thought I’d check)… and all of them enjoyable. 😍😍

The largest Friday Standard group yet… Ten of us enjoying the sun on a gorgeous January morning. 😍😍

Another superb evening at Newport Velodrome last night - expertly coached by @pdqcyclecoaching as always.

Today’s #ViewFromMyBike. Another fixie ride with Russ. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

First sign of a cold snap, here. Dipped below zero (°c) on my ride, today. Lovely and sunny, though 👍🏻

Day 2 of bike-every-day January… and a sunny 50km around a nearby lake with my son and a couple of mates.

Firing up the Collard outdoor “cinema” for our traditional Christmas Eve film… Die Hard.

Happy Christmas all - hope 🧑‍🎄 is kind to each and every one of you - see you on the other side. 😍😍😍

What can beat a gorgeous Christmas Eve Eve bike ride with a mate?… 50k+ of chatting with an hour of chatting at a cafe in the middle. Kinda perfect really.
December 23, 2024 at 2:39 PM
A drizzly, cold, mucky solo ride, reacquainting myself with fixed-gear cycling… without the usual Friday chat or cafe stop.

Spent most of the time “tip-toeing” around on muddy roads but still… it’s true what they say… you never regret the rides you do, you only regret the rides you don’t do.

Another bike-themed Christmas project.

Take a range of different wheel sizes, some wood, an old fake tree, 100 fairy lights (remote control, no less)… add a couple of hours work and some head-scratching… and we have a wee decoration for our outdoor, side-of-the-house, seating area.

It might be mild… but it ain’t ‘alf treacherous on the country lanes. #ViewFromMyBike

Fed up with Angus having all the fun, I donned my Lycra for the Portishead Cycling Club velodrome session, last night… expertly coached, as always, by Andy of PDQ Cycle coaching fame.

Just SO much fun… if you can put up with the fact that the adrenaline will keep you awake all night.

Another “fresh” evening on the bike with the BRCC crew 🥶
November 27, 2024 at 8:12 PM
What better use of an old rear bike cassette, some pipe cleaners and a set of mini-led lights…. A wee desktop Christmas tree.

I can be creative… sometimes. 🤣🤣

Do you love anyone enough to get them a *checks notes* box containing 20 bags of Walkers crisps?

Paper-round duties with my son, this morning…
