I enjoyed citing a spiritual gem at Isaiah ch.24;21,22 at the Thursday meeting last week over Zoom. The "army of the heights", Satan's rebel army , the demons, including the "Prince of Persia" from the book of Daniel will be put in an abyss with him just as Revelation ch.20:1-4 foretold 800 yrs later

I've enjoyed reading Mike Joyce's book "The Drums" this week. At the very moment I read about him going to a Rickie Lee Jones concert I heard one of her songs being played on the Guy Garvey show on the Sounds app.
I hadn't known that Morrisey wrote a book about James Dean so might check it out.

I watched "One Hand Clapping" for the first time last weekend and paused it at one point as it had inspired me to write lyrics to a tune I'd got last year. The song chorus "Let you live again" was written with "Live and Let Die" in mind. I put the above film back on, the next song was.."Live and.."

Have been reminiscing recently about early 1976 , helped by watching Top of the Pops episodes of the time. I've realised that God helped me to cope then. I loved a comment from a friend of ours ,a medical doctor, at the Kelvin meeting last Sunday; 'gratitude is closely linked to memory". Very true.

I listened to the Beatles this week, on repeat.
Watching a "Boon' episode, "Glasshouse People" last night my wife said "he should have set his lion on them"- a lion was in the previous episode.
I then told her that earlier, in the city, I'd heard an African student say "I've never seen a lioness".

I once heard the name Wilson Pickett in a dream. Also had a vivid dream about a dance night where Carl Perkins was present.
My GP surgery recently sent me a copy of a letter from Stonehouse hospital to my old GP when I was sent home after 5 weeks.Turns out I was admitted on 19th of January 1976.

Got good news today that our nephew in Oregon has finally been given a green card . Last week I watched the LennonNYC documentary, which I've seen before, and really liked John Lennon's comment when asked if he held any grudges about his fight to stay in the U.S., "well time wounds all heels"

Today I'm really enjoying my first new cd of this year, Cameron Winter's "Heavy Metal" . Heard the 2nd song on the Chris Hawkins show and loved it. Had heard about Geese through Nick Cave's post.
During my first listen I got a phone call about some 1976 hospital dates I'd enquired about recently

I zoomed into my first US midweek meeting on Thursday night, in New York. There was an announcement at the end that a brother, with the same surname as me, had been appointed as a ministerial servant. His first name is middle eastern. There were English and Irish sisters, in person, at the hall too.

Enjoyed the John Le Carre interview by Mark Lawson today. He cited Hamburg a lot which is coincidental- the U.S. congregation I zoomed into on Saturday was named Hamburg. Before watching the above I'd thought about Stewart Copeland due to his classical namesake Aaron who's music was on R3, I'm sure.

On Saturday afternoon I watched a nice talk all about the resurrection hope, in the U.S. Later in the evening I was on a train and a slightly inebriated giant of a man sat down on the chair next to me.I found out he is a retired undertaker so I told him about the talk and we had an interesting chat

This is where I stayed for 5 weeks exactly 50 years ago. I didn't see my mum or my brother Ward for that whole 5 weeks. I sometimes imagine the last 34 years as being like that hospital stay.

Enjoyed the 2nd half of the Morecambe and Wise show tonight, especially the sword fight as I've been reading about sword fights in "As You Wish". The dog whooping scene when Diana Rigg is taking to Eric is extremely funny. It was the open coach scene with the fur coats that jogged my memory of 1975.

Watched some of the 1975 Morecambe and Wise Xmas show last night and realised that I saw it on tv just before going into hospital for 5 weeks when my eczema was severe. I was on tranquillisers and couldn't move for the pain.I'm still recovering from that time. Jehovah could see it all- Ps.145;8,9

After I had the dream, a few days ago, I couldn't remember the actor's full name and said to myself "Peter...Irish..." and then I remembered his second name.
I went online to read about him and also looked up "Lawrence of Arabia" as that's his most well known film

I got a rare phone cal yesterday afternoon from our old friend who has the same name as a Python. He told me there were 7 Parakeets in his back garden recently and there's a flock of them in Dawsholm Park.
I saw his name mentioned in "As You Wish" last night just after writing the note below.

I started reading "As You Wish" by Cary Elwes today, which I'd thought about buying over the years. The film production was started at the time I started going to the Kingdom Hall in Lanark. A few days ago Peter O'Toole appeared briefly in one of my dreams. I've just seen "Lawrence of Arabia" cited.

I wrote this in yesterday's page of my diary due to the "Belushi" coincidences as he did very good imitations of Joe Cocker.
I read about Chris Rea using snow at one of his gigs. My brother Ward liked Chris Rea which introduced me to his music.
Dan Ackroyd had found snow helped him to grieve.

I'd never seen "Belushi" before just to stress. The snow memory was from the '70's when I was mesmerized watching snow fall on a dark late afternoon at our big living room window and was told every snowflake is different. I drew upon that memory to write a poem about snow about 3 years ago.
December 20, 2025 at 4:36 PM
Watched "Belushi" this week. Earlier that day I had listened to "Sgt. Pepper.." which was cited early on.There was a photo of Stonehenge shown.David Byrne was in a SNL photo- I've been on a Talking Heads binge for weeks while reading "How Music..". I'd had a vivid memory of snow earlier that day too

For the last few days I'd been trying to recall a coincidence from about the end of 2024 without looking at my diary. Last night an episode of Darby & Joan , series 2 episode 3 , reminded me what it was! " There's a saying; You don't always get what you want but you get what you need."

I had an up close and personal encounter with a mouse yesterday which freaked me out so we've put lots of mint oil down,as it worked the last time.
Last night I watched "...Mr J G Reeder..The Treasure House" and noticed John Quarmby, who was the Hotel Inspector in "Basil the Rat"-"Fawlty Towers"

On Sunday afternoon I checked the Sky Documentary channel schedule over the next few days, which I hadn't done for a while. I saw the documentary "Albert Brooks -Defending My Life" was due to play today at 3.20a.m. so planned a recording. It was only yesterday that I saw that Rob Reiner directed it

The meeting I attended on Zoom yesterday afternoon was in Fort Lauderdale, which I found out today is next to a city named Hollywood. I'd heard a few West Indian accents and had wondered, as I'd been informed the meeting was in Texas. The good lady logs me in to the U.S. meetings on her iPad.

While I was listening to the radio show about Dick Van Dyke last week I thought about Mel Brooks and very soon afterwards Carl Reiner was mentioned as being the writer of The Dick Van Dyke show, which I hadn't known. I did know that Carl Reiner was a very good friend of Mel Brooks.
