We’ve had a world war since then, it seemed for the longest time that lessons had been learned. At this point FIFA are just following the money, no matter the cost.

That’s fair enough. Sort of ties in with big breweries starting to hoover up craft breweries and launching their own white brands to muscle in on the market. Shame really.

There’s one in St Kilda every year in Catani Gardens I think which I’ve been tempted with a couple of times, but I can’t imagine it’d be much good. Blobfish is great, but very niche. Pint of Origin is great though, I try to maximise my involvement in that every year.

From what I can see the novelty value is still there, but like you say it seems that there’s fewer and fewer reasons to attend. Definitely feels like Melbourne can sustain a beer festival, just not sure what the answer is. Maybe needs to be done for love rather than profit?

Yeah I probably agree with you, taking away the identity of supporter groups is never going to end well but it’s a clear sign of intent for the club: behave or you’re not welcome.

Looks like pizza slices are their main deal, but they did have a panino on special which was decent.

He was absolutely massive in the mid-90’s, can remember taping one of his shows from the telly and my brother and I watching it almost daily during the summer holidays.

All of these were on the tab. Nothing groundbreaking, but certainly more than the standard pub fare. Tried most, dark ale was probably the highlight.

Yep spot on. Used to enjoy the GB back in the day and The London had a couple of good taps, but that’s all gone now. The Cherry Tree is the only pub anywhere near half decent, but that’s about it. Happy in my my little inner north bubble thanks very much.

There are some shops, some restaurants, and some bars. Busy it may be, cool it ain’t.
