Also $2.8B in 1994 is more like $6.1B today spread over 7 years.

It's not even remotely comparable.

OpenAI is one of the most popular services *ever made* and yet they only keep hemorrhaging money like crazy.

They'd lose less money if they were selling dollars at 50 cents.

It's not a input, for sure, but it has interactive behaviors (beyond focusing obv).

You can click on the backdrop or use the ESC key to close the dialog.

Maybe reducing the need for dependencies would be a good long term strategy for Node and the npm ecosystem?

But disabled is used with all the other interactive elements (including the <menuitem> proposal) 🤔

I think the only exception is <a> although I will admit I've never needed to disable a link (unlike a form or a modal which is almost always).

That said...

I think it would've been more idiomatic to use a "disabled" attribute.

Thanks I wasn't aware of closedby="none".

It works for CSS with an attribute selector and doesn't enable closing with ESC and clicking on the backdrop.

But it doesn't prevent the dialog from being closed with a button. In both of these examples you can still close the dialog.

This generation of AI tech will never be profitable at scale.

And they've already dumped like a trillion into it. Imagine the profits they'd need to recoup that.

Some niche uses cases will definitely remain after the bubble pops but it won't be chatbots.
