Because MAGA never apologizes. They double down on the rhetoric to excite the base. As was pointed out elsewhere on social media, none of the people booing Ernst were EVER going to vote for her so who cares what they think? And the MAGA base loves her mocking the libs. It's not rocket science.

On one hand, great work speaking out…but on the other hand, I’m sure she was fine with the unitary executive theory when dear old dad and GW were using it to torture brown folks in the Mideast. Maybe if more people spoke up back then this kind of crap wouldn’t be happening today 🤷‍♂️

He’s literally not arguing anything. He’s pointing out that in our echo chambers many democrats see trans rights as something that has popular support when it actually may not (at least in swing states). Just because we’re on the right side of history doesn’t mean we’re in the majority.

I get that democrats do this to, as evidenced by the chart (and I would expect it honestly), but it's telling that the red lines shift so dramatically each time. Dear god...
Interesting that outside of elections, both graphs trend together so deviation from the baseline seems like a good measure.

There was a Supreme Court case in 2012 that affirmed the Federal Government cannot use funds as a method of coercion against states. It was a 7-2 ruling with all conservative justices supporting the states. Governors may have more ability here than you think.
