I think framing it as “exploiting a flaw in the rules” is wrong.

Catcher framing is clearly important to the art of catching, and fallible humans calling balls/strikes is a feature (not a bug) of the game. It will remain that way after the challenge system is implemented (obviously less so tho).

“in a cheerful bar i think everyone here would get along” is perfect. Thank you

Yeah yeah yeah “full season stats are generally more predictive than partial season stats” etc. etc.

I think you’ve convinced me but in the psyche of us Tigers fans, Riley is a more important player. Nick was only briefly the best position player on the team, Riley feels like our future.

The acid Tigers fucking rock

Sure—but I think Riley is a tier better. He has a .371 WOBA this season at age 24. He’s on pace for 40 homers and still growing into his power. Castellanos posted above a .371 WOBA once in his career, in 2021, while playing in the Great American Small Park.

Coming back here to share this. I think you have to evaluate the quality of contact with this in mind. He has a weird, unique swing/approach.

You missed the part where the Bush administration failed to take any climate action and destroyed the Kyoto protocol, which has inevitably led us here. Can’t believe you’re such a shill for the Bush administration. If you’re going g to talk about it, be honest. Silence is complicity.

Sure—if you assume commercial stores are operating on accurate information and not on a faulty, overly risk averse basis. I’m not sure that I agree with that assumption.

The other problem they will help solve for though is food deserts. I’m more optimistic about that.

Sure—but 1-3% cheaper is still cheaper. I’m not bullish on these publicly run stores, but a pilot project is worth a shot.

Midwesterner here— this goes too far west.

I think you should just pick one. Using both would feel odd as a reader, without your explanation. Plus, I think most baseball fans understand these stats at least vaguely.
