I think for me it was that he’s shorter and older than imagined in the book. He’s conventionally attractive, but just visually very different than in the book.

I prefer MM romance but I also enjoy MF romantasy. I like the equal power dynamic with no woman being forced, coerced, or taken advantage. No demeaning references to female anatomy, no ridiculous “porn fantasy”. And not inserting myself into the story allows me to enjoy the pure romance of it all.
