Karel Pekelharing was a Dutch dancer, writer, & gay resistance fighter. He opposed the Nazis, joined the armed resistance, & was executed in 1944. Just back from my first Europe trip. A surprise stop in Amsterdam led me to the Homomonument—powerful and moving. My second monument after the Pink Triangle Memorial in San Fran, I keep a pink quartz from there on my desk. Someday, I hope to visit Berlin, Sydney, and Sitges too.
