The Palantir deals are as dodgy as Mandelson.
A £240m defence contract without tender.

Their fingerprints all over our health care data.

A meeting in the USA but without any minutes.

Everything around Palantir stinks.

Great report here on Zack Polanski pointing out all the broken manifesto pledges from Starmer's government. From tuition fees to supporting genocide, it makes a strong case for a broken election mandate.

After 18 months in power, Starmer has turned his back on the mandate pledges that granted him office, while his broken promises stack up.

When I hear all the news around today and look at the politicians, media, millionaires heading businesses involved in so much and see how the rest of us live I feel we need to turn this country and most of the world on it's head and put real people in charge.

For humanists, morality is not a divine gift. Instead, it is rooted in our evolution as a social species. Over millennia, traits such as empathy, cooperation, fairness, and concern for others helped human communities survive and flourish.

The UN Secretary General has said it's time to move beyond GDP and measure "the things that really matter to people and their communities."

He's right.

To Paine, the 'wickedness of government' was never to be allowed to stifle the 'blessings of society'. His vision was uncompromising: a nation where reason triumphed over superstition, where poverty was recognised as a solvable injustice, and where government existed for the benefit of the governed.

One can’t help but wonder what Thomas Paine – American Founding Father who fought for liberty, democracy, and the separation of church and state – would make of today’s US, with authoritarianism on the rise and Christian Nationalism increasingly assertive. He was born #OnThisDay in 1737.

this is such a weird story:

An influential Labour-aligned think-tank previously run by Morgan McSweeney, now Sir Keir Starmer’s chief of staff, paid a public affairs company to identify the source of leaks to journalists about the group’s funding.

Are we starting to see the beginning of the end of the wealthy controlling everything in a very undemocratic way? More and more stories coming to light about their misconduct. We need politicians who will not be bought!

BREAKING:

We've called for an end to the law requiring schools to hold daily acts of collective worship, after the Government said it will update guidance on the law.

No amount of revised guidance can fix a fundamentally outdated relic.

The water levels on The Meads in Bridgwater, Somerset have dropped dramatically over the last few days. Makes me wonder how long it will be before the water companies start warning the reservoirs are too low and start considering hosepipe bans!

A few people asking about fascinating story by @rowenamason.bsky.social (which others have followed up/ expanded on) so sharing here 👇

She & @guardianheather.bsky.social revealed that Nigel Farage’s trip to Davos was hosted and paid for by the $10bn family trust of an Iranian-born billionaire.

Farage only debates establishment figures because his job is to perform dissent, not practice it. A real debate with @zackpolanski.bsky.social would expose the pro-capitalist consensus he shares with Starmer and Badenoch The 'choice' they offer is an illusion!
Gorton & Denton is between the Green Party and Reform.

And Farage knows his candidate is weak as.

Hannah Spencer for the win.

Starmer, whether he likes it or not is now linked to the unfolding Mandelson scandal and he’s running out of road.
Universally loathed and breathtakingly incompetent his time is surely up.
