WE HAVE SEEDLINGS!! 🎉 I can’t tell you why, but I am still always shocked when my seeds germinate, and the seedlings show up. You’d think the excitement would fade after a few years, but so far, no. I am still utterly astounded when my seeds decide to grow into actual plants 🤷🏻‍♀️🌱 #vegetablegardening

My seeds have FINALLY arrived!!!! They are about two weeks late, but this summer, I’m going to try growing: tomatoes, tomatillos, peas, green beans, okra, squash, bell peppers, jalapeños, sport peppers, carrots, beets lettuce and cucumbers.

It’s not. I promise. Trust me on this one. Much cheaper to call your congress folx and ask them to fund research and prevention for bird flu. #backyardchickens

Char siu chicken tonight. Feels silly to be posting about cooking right now, but we are all dealing with this treasonous administration the best we can, and for me that mostly involves work and dissociation, but cooking also helps. I hope everyone else is also finding ways to stay sane and grounded.

Tried a recipe today that I saw in a video (caramelized onion pasta), and it was…okay. It was good— just more sweet elements than I expected between the onions, sun dried tomatoes and roasted garlic. I used cashew cream instead of coconut milk and whole wheat and sourdough pasta.

This morning we tried something new: chilaquiles (pronounced chill-Achilles, just imagine a relaxed ancient Greek warrior and that’s how you say it) rojos, which is basically just chips tossed in red sauce. Super tasty.
