There were lots of details I loved, but my favourite was that all of the type that would normally be a font irl was hand-drawn instead.

We watched The Bad Guys 2 with the kids yesterday, and it was wayyyy more fun than I expected! So wonderfully kinetic and made with love :D

I did not buy a music box, but I did buy a book about De La Soul. 🌻

The Flying Nun shop around the corner has 3 of the Final Fantasy music boxes (I, III and XVI) and I'm thinking real hard about getting one tomorrow.....

There's fucking yaoi art on a train by my house I'm fucking losing my mind, this rules so much
Anime styled graffiti art on a train car depicting a male demon looking seductively at another man while saying "That's a good boy", with the phrase "kiss yr homies goodnight" in the bottom left corner.
Artist seems to be "Akira BPD"

One last set of mountains for this trip, because this has clearly turned into a bit.
A view of the lake and mountains from the grounds of a hotel. A picnic table is in the foreground, partially obscured by shrubs. A view of the melting snow on The Remarkables ski field under a partly sunny sky. Another view of The Remarkables ski field under an almost white cloudy sky. A wide angle shot of the alpaca field in Walter Peak Farm, with the lake and mountains in the distance.

Fandom is amazing in the weirdest ways. I stepped off a tour thing and waved at @stickmarionette.bsky.social who was getting on the tour thing.

Some more South Island mountains to break up your doomscrolling
Lake Wanaka on a cloudy day, with snowcapped mountains in the distance The mountains around Milford Sound (which is actually a fiord, not a sound) A pleasingly shaped glacial valley in the Fiordland National Park A view of Queenstown from the Skyline viewing deck

We've travelled far enough that sunset is 20 minutes later than the city we flew into. 🧐

The air-raid style emergency sirens they use down here were a surprise and I had to look them up, have heard them twice today now.

Today was a bit of a mixed bag, we left on time but then a really bad crash happened near the cafe we had morning tea at. Nobody was seriously hurt, but we missed the glowworm cave cruise and couldn't rebook 😭

At least tomorrow's cruise is happening, that was looking iffy too!

Love this concise but devastating eagle call reveal. Second only to “geographically improbable loon noises” for things that immediately inflame the ol’ birding lobe of the brain

Thank you to the Alaska Raptor Center for telling the truth that birders already knew: every bald eagle cry you hear in an advertisement is a red-tailed hawk.
