Mistress, I worry that the term ‘weird stuff’ has recently expanded to include polite civil discourse, open exchange of ideas, freedom of thought and other things that were covered by a bunch of 18th century documents— the kind no longer taught in schools. I hope I am mistaken.

This is a far more thorough description than I have seen elsewhere on the Net. I have bookmarked it.

Our society has made progress by moving past 'gay' as an epithet. But the concept remains--the otherness--only the word was replaced. 'Weak' or 'Loser' are bogeyman terms which keep men in line, especially those who seek/excel in masculine or hypermasculine careers.
