I don't think enough blame for where the U.S. finds it self today has been levied against the cowardly, Republican members of Congress, who are enabling all of this. All this nonsense could be stopped so easily.

On the weekend of the Augusta Women's Amateur, it still amazes me that the top women professionals don't have their own "Masters". Here' an idea. Replace the Chevron Champ. with a Women's Masters the week after the Men's tournament. The Chevron has lost it's history anyway since moving to Texas.

Amazing how the polls were totally accurate when the Conservatives were in the lead but are obviously flawed now that the Liberals are leading. How many days are we away from Maple Maga taking a page out of the Trump playbook and claiming that the election is being stolen?

How do 47% of Americans think the dictator is doing a good job?
March 17, 2025 at 11:26 PM
It's pretty clear by now that nothing is going to change in the U.S. until someone grows a backbone and stands up to the dictator-in-chief. Whether that's the press, Congress or, sadly, the military. It's apparent that waiting for things to go back to "normal" is no longer, and never was, a choice.

Tariffs and Trump's 51st state nonsense have forever changed the relationship between our two great nations. As a 61-year old Canadian, I don't think I will ever look at the U.S. the same again. The bonds of friendship has been broken. Hard to see how it can ever go back to where it once was.

Every day I check Bluesky to see the news from the U.S. thinking it can't get worse and every day I'm wrong.

If fans at the Canada/USA hockey game, on Thursday, in Boston, boo the Canadian anthem, it will prove that Americans are in complete denial as to what their President is doing to it's closest allies and, by extension, to the reputation of America around the world. Canada is blameless in this.
February 18, 2025 at 2:58 PM
The craziest thing about Trump's attempt to intimidate and subjugate Canada is that Canadians were probably the only people on earth who didn't already despise the U.S.A. We thought we were best friends. Not sure you can say the same thing today. America's list of friends is getting pretty short.

Even if the U.S. is lucky enough to rid themselves of the Trump/Musk plague in 4 years time - and that's not a foregone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination - how long will it take to repair the damage they are inflicting on the government and the country as a whole?
February 15, 2025 at 12:04 AM
I am not sure how any Canadian could look at what's going on in the U.S. and think it would be a good idea to elect a Conservative government, whose platform is heavily derived from the Trump playbook.
February 11, 2025 at 10:33 PM
As a Canadian, I'm starting to wonder why Americans are letting Trump and his cronies get away with this. Alienating allies, dismantling your federal government, causing hardship to millions. If you don't wake up soon, your country will be permanently changed into something you don't recognize.

How crazy does Trump have to get before Republican lawmakers realize something is not right?
February 5, 2025 at 1:17 AM
It's becoming clear to Canadians that this trade war has nothing to do with fentanyl or migrants or even trade deficits. It's all about Trump's fantasies about annexing Canada and expanding America's imperial footprint. Sad to see so many of our American "friends" allowing him to go down this path.
February 3, 2025 at 9:38 PM
The number of American Republicans who actually think the Canadian tariffs are about fentanyl and boarder security is staggering.
February 2, 2025 at 9:00 PM
Why? That's what Canadians are asking. Why go after the best friend and closest ally in the world? You can blame Trump, but every lawmaker in Washington who is allowing this to happen is just as guilty. Turns out Americans aren't as much like us as we thought. We'd never do this to a friend.
February 2, 2025 at 2:24 PM
Maybe we just have to face the fact that Trump and his supporters are just really bad people. Trying to fight that with empathy, logic, and facts is a losing proposition.

You know Fox News has no idea about Canada and Canadians when their two "experts " on our country are Jordan Peterson and Kevin O'Leary.

The great thing about @bsky.app is that every second post doesn't either disappoint me or infuriate me or both.

Dropped in on Twitter/X for the first time in a while and can’t believe I stayed on there as long as I did. So toxic.

Any Canadian who looks at the situation in the U.S., rolls their eyes and thinks "that could never happen here" is delusional. We are months, if not days, away from potentially having a government who uses the Trump playbook as their bible. Time to wake up Canada!
