A reminder about what it means to say that the UN Charter does not bind the President. This is not some rule imposed on us by some external force. The “UN” bogeyman. This is a treaty that the United States negotiated, pushed, and the President ratified with the advice and consent of the Senate.

Even in DC speak I’d take: “This agency is hopelessly politicized and has a broken culture of violence and unquestioning loyalty to Trump. Its duties will be reorganized and reassigned to other law enforcement agencies. ICE was an experiment started in 2003 and it has failed.”

An issue with “abolish ICE” is the work of ICE can still get dispersed elsewhere. But as a specific agency with a specific culture and recruitment history, it’s indefensible. Trump’s regime is doing brownshirt recruitment campaigns for it. You gotta nuke that.

Perfect example of why community is so important. When neighbors showed up, she was no longer alone. Gave her the willpower to tell them to fuck off.

Second, and probably most importantly, it's tactically wrong. "No point discussing political opposition to fascism, there won't be elections anyway" cedes victory to your enemies. It's defeatism and nihilism.
