The fediverse isn't owned by any one entity. Different servers or instances are run by different individuals or groups, and connect via the activitypub protocol. So you can choose the community and software that suits you best, or even run your own if you're a bit techie.

Also, whilst I applaud the fact that it's helping people get away from Space Karen, it's still corporate tech with big investors who will eventually want a return on their investment on the back of your data.

Because Bluesky isn't actually part of the Fediverse. It operates it's own protocol that does not interface with all the sites listed in the graphic.

And whilst it *might* decentralize one day, right now it's still a walled-garden where one corporate entity has control of the network.
