Monsters: Creatures of Mystery is a gorgeously painted picture book with simple backstories on a variety of “real” monsters. There’s a two page spread of a group of Sasquatch attacking a lonely cabin that TERRIFIED me.

I could imagine the sound of endless rocks striking my home, unearthly howls and flashing, ravenous fangs in the darkness. It was the kind of picture that I couldn’t look at during the day and would leave me inconsolable at night.
