(I know there are many layers to this convo, including "it's not really about keeping kids safe", I know that, but also in regards to fandom policing, where 20 year olds will see an adult existing as an adult + decide they are monsters bc of ship wars/fanart/whatever they feel like being mad about)

The other day I tried applying for an online tutoring job and they ended the application ASKING FOR A PHOTO OF MY ID and like??? Am I just gonna have to give out my ssn to use the internet now???
