Oh shit, that's Daniel Warren Johnson! He's one of the best comic artists around! One of 2024's biggest moments in comics was this two-page spread of Batman snapping a Nazi's arm that was saluting the prior page, from Absolute Batman Annual #1.

If somebody wrote a prompt saying "make a video of a 3D statue of liberty crying", that person isn't an artist, and what was produced isn't art. And it contributes to an AI that is taking jobs from workers.

The issue isn't the manipulation of images! It is WHO is manipulating. If someone spent the time to create a 3D model of the Statue of Liberty so they could have her cry, there's thing wrong with that! That's an artist, making art!

The only ethical concerns I have with Photoshop is Adobe's embrace of AI.
Keep in mind "photoshop" is a verb as well as a noun, and a placeholder for similar software (like kleenex for tissue paper). I can easily do the background image in Krita or Gimp, without an AI handicap.

There was outcry over its embrace of AI, yes. This is something that is very easily done without it.

I think it is offensive that you say we can't call each other out to do better. And my comment shouldn't be offensive to the poster, it's an attack on the AI content itself.
