Good people exist too thankfully. I wear a pretty unflattering N95, and my 90-year-old aunt ,who doesn't take precautions, said "You look beautiful, even in the mask," and gave me a sweet smile!

It's not just a covid vaccine in pill form. It may do a much better job at preventing covid infection via the mucosal route, which could be a game-changer.

Long-term, could it be good that covid is being crowded out and losing its grip to the flu (given much lower rate of post-viral complications from flu), or is that too optimistic?

There is no risk of getting bird flu without contact with an infected animal/raw milk, etc. now, correct? Aside from dozens of us, people don't mask for covid, a present threat. Trust may erode further if we are overly cautious with recommendations.

Major fan of masks and public health, but isn't it premature to suggest them for bird flu which does not yet seem to be passed between humans? That is, aside from PPE for farm workers and those who handle wild birds.
