I love the name Gizmo but mine was a tiny little girl. I almost sometimes wish I called her Ewok because depending on her hair cut - when it's a little shorter - she sounds and looks like an Ewok.

You need a cat or a small dog. I traditionally had big dogs but with my arthritis I am no longer fit enough to deal with their energy. The most recent puppy was a much tinier than doodle. The big cat I needed because the big doodle was grieving loss of my 17 year old cat that helped me raise her.

I have a big Goldendoodle & a tiny Shorky & huge black cat-all of which are my constant companions-being a retired widow means I’m never alone. I prefer their company to human company. They sleep with me-compete for my lap-make me laugh-I’ll be devastated losing any one of them.

definitely terrier - I would think a little Yorkie in your Meercat as well, especially the eyes and nose.
