My trust in the Amaury family is lower than most, they're slimy AF.

Does Lappartient work for UCI or ASO? He talks about having plans but has done nothing in his time as president to improve the commercial prospects for professional cycling.

Funny how Armstrong gets the asterix but Ullrich is all good.

The funniest thing is the small French teams crying about budget while they are the ones who want to hold on to the current economic model of letting ASO make all the money and not share broadcasting revenue with teams.

Not a fan of the rules changing to reduce the number of soigneurs on the road, especially on hot days. The drop to the convoy and back to the peloton is far more sketchy IMO than a few more bottle handups along the road.

Can anyone point out an example of UAE displaying good race tactics? They look good as a team because Pogacar is a freak of nature and they have millionaire domestiques, but I can't recall ever seeing them race smart.

UAE never has goos tactics, they just have Pogacar and million dollar domestiques to try to overcome bad tactics.

UAE with Movistar tactics today. They are tactically one of the worst teams in the peloton for tactics that just get saved by Pogacar's strength.

The Sky years stole it from lots of us before that. They strangled the life out of races with their mountain trains

For a young guy like that, the self doubt based on the social media narratives of the past several days can be take a lot of the legs.

That is going to be a long lonely ride to the finish. It has to be tough going in as leader and then having the team shift leadership mid race.
I can't imagine he will be with the team again next year.

They should at least be getting a bill for any treatment that comes as a result of their choice not to vaccinate their children.

Nice moto pacing for the past several kms

I don't understand the big money for Benoot. I think he is a very useful rider in the classics, but I don't think he's going to get on a lot of podiums to justify that kind of spend.

Is there anyone in the White House now who is not their for their own self interest?

...When the race is on from km 0, there is no way that it's sustainable for 4 hours of racing. Add in twitchy 36cm handlebars and it's a recipe for clusterf@*^!

What is happening is that every DS is yelling at their team to be first into every corner and first into the bottom of every hill, this is creating too much stress and chaos in the peloton....

..moving up and staying at the front. I think it’s basically that fight for position. We’re a menace unto ourselves."
As much as the people complain about courses being more dangerous, I haven't seen a dramatic change in courses over the years, except to make them more attritional....

I hate hearing this "this isn't what we voted for" BS. This is EXACTLY what you voted for, you voted for a clown now you get the circus. Own it you f'ing losers, this is on every single Trump voter.

I think it's just pure Basque passion. The Basques are so proud of their region and this is his home race, just like how Belgians get up for the Ronde.

Nope, and that is why we all love Marc - pure cycling entertainment!
