Mad inventor trying to save the planet by making a fun, safe, and responsible new mobility solution.
I’ll bet that secretly you enjoyed it!

Perhaps learn the difference between a movie and a documentary?

We need a new flag!
And when I say “we”, I mean all the caring, considerate, intelligent people in this country and other lands too.
People who believe in democracy, decency, and integrity.
We need a symbol of our compassion and humanity because this one was never that! I’m so ashamed

Cowardice and pragmatism are two sides of the same coin.
He won’t touch the “Brexit” disaster with a barge pole, because he knows it is an unexploded bomb!

Dale, I see this problem as having two distinct identities, the tax laws, and separately the ENFORCEMENT of the tax laws.
If HMRC had the resources, surely we could collect more tax, without the “negative” impression of raising rates.
What are your thoughts on closing international loopholes ?

Well summarised, but let’s not forget that he still has at least two more years before pre-election positioning becomes fixed.
He has proved to be a massive disappointment so far, but if he has the capacity to listen, then all is not lost.
Reform will blow-up before the election (I hope)

As the saying goes, “don’t let “Perfect” be the enemy of “Good””.
I see left-wing zealots who would risk the incremental progress that is being made, just because it is that: Incremental!
September 8, 2025 at 8:46 AM
The thing is Dale, that apart from yourself, nobody is spending a lot of energy explaining this, and so it doesn’t “break through” with mainstream media.
The right will always be the right, it’s the minds of masses that need to be enlightened.
But keep up the good work.

Well, whoever is responsible it’s political incompetence.
September 7, 2025 at 2:51 PM
And then Starmer will wonder why they have become so unpopular
September 7, 2025 at 2:33 PM
Unfortunately this is all about optics - and this government started with very little “ goodwill” from the electorate, and they have rapidly squandered it.

At some point Starmer will come to need that “goodwill”, so he should preserve what he has left, for the important things.
September 5, 2025 at 7:46 AM
Agreed. His strategy is an extension of his personality.
But modern politics demands a different approach, and his slow-paced, methodical, method makes him appear weak and unresponsive.

This is like watching a bull fight, and Starmer is the bull, and the outcome is inevitable.

Maybe @alfdubs.bsky.social has an opinion on the validity of this?
August 28, 2025 at 8:46 AM
I think it would be perfectly possible to anonymise their full identity for protection. Anyway, who would want to attack an inspirational figure?

Oh wait…. Farage! . Yes, point taken.
But this is an “ideas” answer, I’ll gladly listen to your better ones

This is obviously a form of propaganda, but fighting the disinformation and bigotry building in this country will become an essential public safety measure.
August 28, 2025 at 7:46 AM
I think many notable asylum applicants could be persuaded to take part, on the grounds that their contributions if widely recognised, would help to stop the demonisation of asylum seekers.
August 28, 2025 at 7:46 AM
Do you remember the “Green Cross Code” adverts?
Governments of the past used to run information advertising campaigns for the purpose of public education.
We need a series of short profile stories about successful asylum applicants who make a positive contribution to the UK.

The perfect time to rescind the King’s invitation!
August 24, 2025 at 9:22 AM
And knowledge of this should be the minimum requirement for the ability to vote.

It’s ironic that the government of a human-rights lawyer should pass and enforce the most draconian govt overreach in recent history. Our protest rights and freedom of speech are in real danger, and until that cloud is lifted it is hardly appropriate to claim a “great” performance.
August 20, 2025 at 8:57 AM
But on another key international point, Israel’s actions in Gaza, he has a very unpopular position. Namely the stifling of protest in support of Palestine.
Worldwide there have been unprecedented protests in support of Palestine, yet here we have arrests for T-shirts with PLASTECINE mentioned.
August 20, 2025 at 8:57 AM
Starmer has had a “good” week, and you need to recheck your calibration of the word “great”.
The most positive aspect has been his handling of the Zelensky support package, a fine performance on the international stage.
August 20, 2025 at 8:57 AM
Agreed, that is an overreaction, but nethertheless, Starmer has definitely turned out to be a different man than the one I voted for.
