iirc the Legends books did try to make that canon by saying like the lightsaber turning on creates a bunch of torque so you needed the force or a lot of strength to keep it steady

Idk, rant ranted. Make your money, keep your rent paid, and try not to waste the time of volunteers

So I guess it's this intersection of non-profit & for-profit values? And maybe we're just too broke to try to emulate the big centers' programs and their ability to keep a paid staff around and maintain a budget surplus. How do we not just pass around the same dozen burnt out community organizers?
December 11, 2025 at 9:45 PM
so back on the non-profit side, we do have the money to pay a professional facilitator; but it still feels out of order. we write the grants, and we petition donors and politicians to keep us funded (keep the lights on), but a professional communicator cant do the same with their practice?

even when I started my personal search and accounted for hitting my out-of-network deductible, it's still feels absurd to eat that several thousand dollars, with then the assumption that you CANNOT stop otherwise you dont hit the deductible. And then its on the patient to wait for reimbursement
December 11, 2025 at 9:27 PM
to me it reads as this false equivalency of "yeah everyone hates insurance, their delays for reimbursement make it too difficult for us". But the thing is we're already out money every month for just having the insurance. So I should ask the broke trans people to double pay for your benefit?

and idk maybe this is just a vent/rant to process my own apprehension with the industry. its not that I even question that hourly rate for a very skilled profession - ive supported artists at similar rates. but when it's coupled with their refusal to interact with insurance...
