Thanks for sharing!! I haven’t seen that documentary but I do remember seeing a much older one long ago that went into the philosophy of design for the Disney parks, and finally being in one brought it all back

Everything about the parks - the music, the design, the rides, the cast members, all worked together to enhance that immersion to make the guests happy, and it worked for me

Oh and I forgot to mention that this was my first time at any Disney park so seeing all of this at once was pretty amazing

One last thing: during the new years celebration the crowd got a little unmanageable and a group of us was siphoned into a backlot. They told us not to take pictures which was pretty indicative of how much they wanted to keep the immersion going

For someone like me who’s obsessed with design and efficiency Disney World really was the most magical place on earth. It’s so interesting what happens when one has been doing this for more than half a century, has unlimited money, and doesn’t need to cut corners on construction and workers

the display of wait times in front of the rides and on the app, the system of buses that transported guests from resorts to the various parks, the fact that the highway signs inside Disney World were a different color than usual signs, and so

the ridiculous number of cast members everywhere who were all immensely helpful and knowledgeable, the system of passes and apps that ensured rapid processing of guests, how gift shops are attached to certain big rides to siphon more money out of the guests, the live shows,

I have never seen a more perfectly designed, well-oiled machine: the thought put into the rides themselves, how they made waiting in line interesting, how fast they loaded and unloaded rides to ensure minimal wait times, the music that was blaring everywhere to maximize immersion,
