Hmm…perhaps Gayle and Tom DeLashmutt are the only two subscribers left at WAPO so they did a story on them?

Because nobody other than Gayle and Tom would be interested in such tone deaf, elitist fluff when the nation is in such turmoil.

WAPO is so clueless how they affirm their own irrelevance.

The problem is that Fox News hasn’t paid enough in lawsuits. Keep going, Smartmatic!

And something tells me that as their base becomes unable to afford health insurance, groceries, gas, rent, etc., they may not be as entertained by Fox’s “top” stories being about Trump building $300M ballroom.
November 13, 2025 at 12:52 AM
More like Trump and his cronies are bracing for it since Republicans would be among those wanting to vote for it.
November 13, 2025 at 12:44 AM
So it would seen that even if Trump succeeds in stopping or vetoing the release of the Epstein files that DoJ has, the Epstein estate could still release a mountain of emails that tell us much of what the DoJ has.

And if Dems win back the House next year, they surely could request them.
November 13, 2025 at 12:42 AM
Sorry if it sounds cold but killing would be the most permanent way of silencing Epstein. So between the two, I think a sociopath mobster like Trump would choose that without any hesitation.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Reading material posted today, I was concerned the NYT may have been protecting Epstein so it is literally good news to see that NYT editors were aghast at this chummy relationship Thomas had with him and acted on it.

Still curious about what happened with Epstein’s offer of Trump photos to Wolff.

You're right, Dems shouldn't be hating on fellow Dems.

But Dem voters should always feel free to honestly assess their representatives.

It's an important duty as Dem voters are essentially their "employers". They should strongly back those representing them well and replace those who aren't.
November 12, 2025 at 5:53 AM
Repub politicians take a perverse joy in making vulnerable people suffer. Makes them feel superior and powerful, despite being morally inferior to most Americans for doing so.

They're also weak, sheep who mindlessly follow their leader, no matter how deranged he may be.

That is not strength.
November 11, 2025 at 9:52 PM
So a majority passes it, which kind of undermines the argument since most who take it, succeed.

So one needs to be pretty smart and well-educated to do so.

How does that line up with people who rely on psychics to assure them that they'll pass the CA Bar?
November 11, 2025 at 9:35 PM
Some states, especially Red States, are dragging their feet on providing SNAP funds even though they could. Many Blue States have made sure funds are available to their citizens.

It's perverse that for many Repub Governors, showing loyalty to Trump and the GOP means starving their own people.
November 11, 2025 at 9:27 PM
Agree on all counts, which underscore the cowardice, deceit, and incompetence of Schumer. He needs to go.

Schumer and these 8+ Dems got into bed with Repubs, agreeing with their slashing ACA subsidies, which could cause the deaths of up to 50,000 uninsured Americans.

How can they justify that?
November 11, 2025 at 9:21 PM
Uh...isn't this just going back to the horrible pre-ACA days?

Insurance companies will just raise premiums to absorb this tiny subsidy to increase profits and make them worthless.

In exchange, no more ACA rules so people will again be denied insurance if they have pre-existing conditions.
November 11, 2025 at 9:10 PM
Yes, the Big Ugly Bill slashed SNAP along with Medicaid. He's now attacking SNAP again, perhaps vindictively since he's run into a judicial buzzsaw in trying to withhold it.

The remaining 3 years of Trump Hell will continue to be choices between different kinds of suffering for the most vulnerable.
November 11, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Dems applauding the Schumer-led betrayal appear to think it was better to vote for the unnecessary deaths of a projected 50,000 uninsured Americans then to have allowed SNAP payments to be fully restored this week by the courts.

This is a victory for the Democratic Party?
November 11, 2025 at 5:11 PM
KBJ on SCOTUS put a 48 hour hold on the SNAP decision so the appeals court could make a full decision supporting it and they did. And the Nov payments for SNAP have gone out so no one would be going hungry.

No vote on the ACA in The House means it’s dead. So the vote of the 8 Dems had no benefit.
November 11, 2025 at 7:26 AM
Yep, nothing brings back businesses and crowds to a mall like violent military assaults and clouds of tear gas.
November 11, 2025 at 6:23 AM
Repubs are putting up a competing bill to the ACA so they won’t vote for the ACA bill.

Johnson won’t promise a vote on the ACA bill in The House.

So, the ACA bill is already dead.

A federal appeals court ruled SNAP must be funded and Nov payments have gone out so kids wouldn’t have starved.
November 11, 2025 at 6:15 AM
Agreed, but they're also dooming children to suffering and death by agreeing to keep ACA subsidy cuts that will force up to 5 million adults and children to be uninsured.

So, it's kind of, "We saved kids from hunger so they can die from being uninsured!"

A tough sell either way.

Word is Sontag's first review will be about "how right" a Chick-fil-A meal was.
November 11, 2025 at 1:19 AM
BREAKING NEWS: The 25 million Americans severely harmed by the loss of ACA subsidies take solace in the fact that at least Sen. Tim Kaine will no longer feel awkward looking Capitol Police in the eye.
November 10, 2025 at 8:23 PM
Easy, some who could replace Schumer as leader in the Senate are Tammy Duckworth, Chris Murphy, Ed Markey, Chris Van Hollen, Patty Murray, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Ron Wyden.

There are other good choices who may not have been in there as long like Raphael Warnock but still could be considered.
November 10, 2025 at 7:44 AM
Schumer may have assured the Spineless 8 to just wait until the elections were over then they’ll go ahead with this vote to sell out Dem voters.

That’s why the Blue Tsunami didn’t matter. They had a plan and a timeframe already.

We need to contribute to primary all of them, especially Schumer.
November 10, 2025 at 4:04 AM
Such a PAC could also put Dem squishes in Congress on notice that their names will be added to the primary list if they betray the trust of Dem voters on a particular vote.
